My name is Derek Baker, I am an avid gamer as well as a 3d Modeler & content designer. I am currently doing graphic design in advertising and marketing & computer technical services with a local business. I am also a tech guru when it comes to accessing and fixing computers in my own special way. I have a desire to achieve a better life for me and my family with which I love so dearly. As of late, my health was deteriorating due to a disease that is called May-Thurner's Syndrome. So the one thing that I love so dearly is killing me slowly, unless I do something and its the one thing I very much dislike, in which is call EXCERSIZE. The reason behind it is that I have Gymtimidation, whether its alone or with a friend.
Brief history of myself, I am a 41 year old male, 375 pounds at 6 foot 4 inch height. I had a sore open up around April 1st on my ankle and could not figure out why till I weighed myself and to my surprise that I reached an unexpected weight limit on April 12th, 2024, of 393 pounds, and needed to do something of it. I read that a spice of cayenne pepper, paprika, and black pepper, with a spoonful of honey in hot water, can reduce inflammation and drop weight really quick. As I measured myself, I soon gotten back to my weight of 375 pounds. But my sore has not closed, or even decided to close, it just gotten worse.
As of recent, on April 23rd, I went to get my foot looked at and very shook up as I was woken up due to a health advice from a physician that if you don't get healthy, by the time I hit 50 years of age, I would be 6 feet in the ground. So as of May 1st, I started my journey on the Carnivore Diet. within a week, I lost 10 lbs. The second week, I was more alert and able to heal more quickly. And my Atopic - eczema stated to clear up much more than ever before, I had little to no back pain and ankle pain. Since it is now almost a month since I started, I have been able to think more clearly, there are much adverse issues I have noticed that other people have been noticing. For one, cramping and muscle spasms, one such symptom in which can be fixed with electrolytes. but with little to no funds to fix this, I been enduring, but need to look into a fix of the issue.
Everyone that is on this Carnivore Diet has been saying to look into LMNT for electrolytes, which has 3 ingredient compound of Magnesium, Potassium, and Salt. I use to get plenty of potassium from bananas, because its my favorite fruit, but since fruits and vegetables are off the counter, I am taking a pill to help with that and am getting tired of taking a horse pill. As for magnesium, I did not realize there were so many different varieties, of magnesium. These include magnesium citrate, magnesium glycinate, magnesium chloride, magnesium lactate, magnesium malate, magnesium taurate, magnesium sulfate, magnesium oxide, and the one I need to take is Magnesium Glycinate and/or Magnesium Malate. As for salt, I have seen that, regular iodized salt is not good for you because your body cannot absorb it at first but gets stored in your body till the cells can break it down, so I was using Himalayan pink Salt, but finding out the best salt to use is either Sea Salt or Celtic Salt with 22 minerals that the human body can absorb. The Ratio of each should be about 1000mg of Sodium, 200mg of Potassium, and 60mg or Magnesium.
Now to start my next 30 days as of June 1st along with the Carnivore Diet to incorporate some exercise and Cut my eating to a meal in the morning and one in the evening. As well as to cut out as much sugar substitutes as I can. at first i been using sucrose to get away from sugar, but I am trying to take more than what is expected to take. My wife of 10 years asked me if I could take stevia, but was not sure on if it will give me the same addiction to it as sucrose does. I was explained to me that Tea and coffee are acceptable but I am intolerant to Caffeine so, I am not sure on what to take other than just plain water... Well as it seems, that the only time I am intolerant to coffee is if I am eating wheat, so I apparently have a gluten allergy. And have been for years.

Just found out the company that I have been working for and love working at decided to close their doors after 30 years. I really love working here and truly enjoy it here, it is prolly the easiest & relaxing job so far. I have been here for almost 10 years off and on, and now able to work within the company as a computer technician and delivery driver. Now what am I going to do...

One of my good friends and decided to create our own business, we started a computer tech shop. We done the impossible, many colleagues and friends said we wouldn't be up and running within a month, and we started on January 6th and we are up and running within a week with a place to call home for the time being. Our office is small and we have just had our first customer and sale. I am so excited on this venture, can't wait to see what happens.

We have been here a month and trying to get set up as a business has been a challenge, we have tried everything to get set up so we may get customers in for everyone to see us on the google searches. I do not understand the concept of this google business suspension. We have fixed our SOE, our address, our website, and everything to make everything match and we are still suspended. Anyways on another note, we have been working with our chamber and they are working on getting us a grand opening with a ribbon cutting within the next few weeks, as well as a radio shout out and newspaper article.

Well our current situation is on a stand still, our ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening has been cancelled, we have to be out of our current place by the 16th of March, just found out my friend that I have known for 10+ years hasn't been very truthful in his past life. It gives me a real question why he hasn't had a real job for a while and why he has only done construction all his life. But what the hell, move forward for better ventures and decide what we if there will be a we in all this mess. I am very bummed out about this whole situation, I feel as if my life is going in the toilet. Just don't know what to do, was given some sound advice that really hit home and pisses me off about what he said.

Huzzah! We are in a new place and it is prime real-estate. Our business is right next to the alley where people drop of the their mail. Now we need to get our sign or banner up. This space is huge. we are sharing the space with a gentleman that had one the best travel agencies in town. This is a huge step up from our 8 foot by 8 foot cubical we were in before. This place has a huge front end, a work area for working on our customers computers, and a large storage area as well as a back hallway to a loading dock. Now to get recognized.

Well business has been slow, started a job at our local college as night security in the dorms, and quite enjoy it, able to get some work done and work on a venture process that I seen online to see if it works. The long shifts are boring but it's nice to meet some of the students here in the college dorms. On another note, we have been somewhat busy at work. My partner with our business is not pulling his shared responsibilities with this business venture. This is suppose to be a 50/50 type of business and I am having to do all the damn work to get it where we need to be. So its been more or less 90/10. He is more of a silent partner than that of an actual partner. Makes me wonder what I have gotten myself in to, thanks to friends and family support as I work through this.

Wow it has been 6 months, and we have hit our $10K goal and still going, we have had almost 75 customers in 6 months and its been almost 2 or 3 customers a week. We were not expecting to get this far, but we have surpassed what people thought and said about our business. Family has been helping me out at the store, been having my brother come in and help me with everything since my so called partner has more pressing issues to work on other than our business. He says "I have to make money, because job is not paying anything" I understand you have to work but can he do it so he can be here at the shop so I can get an actual job for the summer, NOPE not happening.

My dad just passed away a few days ago, and it has been really depressing, It's been hard on both my partner and I, because my partners sister had passed as way as well. I have no words on what to put down, I am very twisted in my head at the moment and just want to keep going and not think about it. The last thing I told my dad was not to give up, but for some reason I knew he was gone at the time I said it. My dad was 90 and he would have turned 91 on July 9th. My wife and I got married 2 days after that, so it is going to be really hard to have a happy 11th anniversary. My dad was one of the best people to get me to start my business, I will miss him very much going forward. Now its just my mom to take care of and lift her spirits, I know that my dad has lived a long life, as he would have said "My friends, my parents, and my siblings have now passed, my time is now up and I must move on, do not grieve as I will be around and see you as you grow."

We have had our dad's memorial yesterday, and it was a hard fought battle to stay civil. Luckily I wanted to put in my rear view mirror and try to forget about it. I figured that most of the family long time friends and family would show up, but didn't realize only a handful of friends and some of the family showed up for this. Only some of the friends that known my dad showed up to this, it just pissed me off that everyone that have known my dad and worked with him either on the fire department or around town would have made it to this. Not even my business partner never showed as he was invited as well to this event yesterday. Just so irritating, that family tried to start battles yesterday, and yet I ignored them as much as I could. I can not believe my family had to do the Hatfields and Macoys routine yesterday, didn't realize there was that much animosity & bigotry amongst the family members. Whatever, it wasn't for them it was for dad...

Well, we got our window decal up on the face of our business and it looks awesome, we have had many people stop and look at it. It feels great that it looks as we are an actual business, instead of a temporary residence with a banner in the window. I am going to get this stuff sent into Google Search to get us approved. On another note, we have surpassed our second goal of 20K and have 150 customers so far this year. I was expecting a repeat from everyone from working with my former employer but about 95% of them are new customers.

I submitted our form for our business yesterday on google and low and behold we got suspended, I have looked and scoured the internet for anyway to figure this crapola out and I think I have found the light at the end of the tunnel. I am to send some documentation stating that I am at set location such as a utility bill, phone bill, or official documentation, so I am sending in the required documentation and hope to see if we are approved. My business partner have come to an agreeance, he cover any excess of computers coming in including cloning, and come in at night to work on the computers as long as i hand the day to day operations, in which I am already doing anyways.

Well it is Official and low and behold we were approved, we are now up on Google Search and it is great. If I had known that we needed actual physical proof that we are in business at required location, I would have done this along time ago. We have sent in our EIN number and Sales tax info, but those were not official enough although they are federal and state given documents. We needed an actual "Physical" address documentation to send them. That would have been nice to know 6 months ago!!! My Partner is still skeptical, but I am indeed sure we are up on the web for good.

We are on the Google Search, we have finally made it on there, We posted some our Custom Builds on the Searches as well as our products we sell, it has been nice to be on the searches, and we are set as number one on computer repair as well. We are hoping for much more business going forward.

College has started back up and I and my wife are back up at the dorms doing security, I have gotten the quiet dorm this year and she got the nosey one. My business has been nonstop since we were verified on Google Search, it has been awesome. We are hoping for more of a turn out as Windows 10 End of Life Support gets closer on October 14th. I think we have been averaging about 4-5 customers a week since the beginning of the month. I cannot believe this month has been really good to us, we closing in on our yearly goal, and prolly going to surpass it, did not expect to reach it by this time.

Well my business partner's computer kind of died, his hard drive took a dump, low and behold we looked at the hard drive and it was a NVMe Solid state drive w/o V-RAM. Who would of thunk-it did not have V-RAM in it. I thought that all NVMe drives had this component on it, but nope!!! He is working on replacing it, but it will not clone to a new drive, even I have tried doing so, and it just sticks its electronic tongue at me. Well Windows 10's End of Life is in 4 days and last week we got 4 computers in and they are ready to picked up.

Well this week has been brutal, we have had 5 service calls, and 6 computers that have came in to get fixed, plus 4 customers looking at new computers to order. Its been nuts, and yet we have a few appointments tomorrow, first time on a Saturday to have people dropping off and picking up computers. This is looking really good, I hope this keeps up, my days have been really busy and its kind of hard to do dorm security, then go to work at the shop for half a day and get yelled and accused of taking his equipment with no apology after finding it from my business partner for screwing up, because I am exhausted and having only a few hours of sleep a day. Whatever moving on, that is all I can do, such a pain in the ass. Hasn't been around for 6 months during the day, and finally seeing what I have to deal with on a day to day basis, well it is what it is, I am still some peon that gets taken for granted and tossed in the corner as someone else takes credit for everything I have done to take this business in the right direction....
